Kruger National Park is the largest game reserve in South Africa has nearly 2 million hectares (approaching 5 million acres) of wildlife, plant life and archaeological sites. That is roughly the size of Israel or Wales! Kruger National Park is noted for its advanced environmental management techniques and policies. It stands as a flagship for wildlife parks in South Africa. In 1926 the British government officially renamed the reserves after Paul Kruger, and declared it to be South Africa’s first National Park.
